Health promotion
The process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health.
Health education
One of the measure of health promotion directed towards personal hygiene, nutrition, life style adopted by individual/ group of people by him self or themselves.
Health counselling
Any assistance to an individual seeking to solve any health problem.
Primary Healthcare
Basic healthcare services that address the health issues faced by an individual, mostly provided by a general physician without requiring a specialist.
Illness (Primary care need)
When you notice a new symptom or infection.
Injury (Primary care need)
An acute medical problem requiring primary healthcare.
MBBCH
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree earned to become a General Practitioner (GP).
Secondary Healthcare
Care provided by specialists who focus either on a specific system of the body or a particular disease, acting as a channel of communication for better advanced medical care.
Cardiologists
Specialists who focus on the heart and blood vessels.
Endocrinologists
Specialists who focus on hormone systems, including diseases like diabetes and thyroid disease.
Oncologists
Specialists who specialize in treating cancers, with many focusing on a specific type of cancer.
Tertiary Care
A higher level of specialized care within a hospital requiring highly specialized equipment and expertise, such as advanced diagnostic centers and specialized intensive care units.
Outpatient care
Medical care where the patient does not have to stay in a hospital, provided in walk-in clinics, outpatient surgery centers, doctor's offices, or hospitals.
Inpatient care
Care provided in a hospital or facility where the patient is admitted and spends at least one night or more depending on their condition.
Clinic
A site of health care delivery that is mono disciplinary.
Polyclinic
A site of health care delivery that could be integrated with different specialties.
Medical Center
A site of health care delivery that could be integrated with different specialties, inpatient care, and short term stay.
Hospital
A site of health care delivery integrated with different specialties, inpatient care, and long term stay.
Center of excellence
A site of health care delivery that is highly specialized, integrated with different specialties, inpatient care, and long term stay.
University hospitals and Research institutes
Hospitals operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education.
Hospitals of Ministry of health
Hospitals operated under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Population.
Health insurance hospitals
Hospitals operated under the supervision of the Health Insurance Organization.
Military hospitals
Hospitals operated under the supervision of the Ministries of Interior and Defense.
Urgent & Emergency treatment
Treatment required immediately ('now') based on rapidity of providing treatment.
Elective treatment
Treatment scheduled over months based on rapidity of providing treatment.
