Muscle of the Pelvic
Arises on the ventral surface of thoracic and lumbar.
Psoas Minor
A long, thin muscle from the lumbar to ilium
Origin: T13-L5
Insertion: Body of Ilium
Action: Flex and stabilizes the lumbar
Innervation: Ventral Branches of thoracic and lumbar Nerves.
Iliopsoas
The strongest muscle of the pelvic. A chief flexor of the hip joint. Formed by Psoas Major and Iliacus Muscles.
Iliopsoas
Origin: Lumbar Vertebrae
Insertion: Lesser trochanter
Action: Flexes hip, rotate outwards the thigh
Innervation: Ventral Branches of lumbar nerve
Quadratus Lumborum
Most dorsal of the sublumbar muscles.
Origin:
Thoracic | T11-T13 and Transverse Process of L1-7 |
Lumbar | Lateral and Ventral edge of Lumbar T.P |
Insertion: Iliac Wing
Action: Fixation of Lumbar
Innervation: Ventral Branches of Lumbar Nerves
