The system used to communicate mathematical ideas, consisting of natural language with technical terms and formula notation with its own grammar.

Characteristics of Mathematical Language
Precise (Characteristic)
Able to make a very fine distinction of things, meaning accurate or exact.
Concise (Characteristic)
Able to say or write things briefly by using expressions or equations.
Powerful (Characteristic)
Able to express complex thoughts with relative ease using equations and formulas.
Mathematical Symbol
Used to refer to certain quantities, concepts, ideas, and other mathematical elements.
Mathematical Expression
A mathematical analogue of an English noun that does not state a complete thought, commonly consisting of numbers, variables, sets, and functions.
Mathematical Sentence
A mathematical analogue of an English sentence that states a complete thought and uses relation symbols (=, ≠, >, <, ≥, ≤) and verbs.
Always True, Always False, or Sometimes True/Sometimes False.
Types of Mathematical Sentences

A mathematical sentence whose truth value depends on the variable values, such as x + 2 = 5 (true if x = 3, false otherwise).
