Ventricles
Chambers in the brain that contain blood vessels called choroid plexus that secrete cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
Choroid plexus
Blood vessels contained within the brain's ventricles that secrete cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
Tissue fluid that bath the brain & spinal cord.
Four Brain Ventricles
The 4 ventricles (chambers) in the brain, consisting of 2 lateral ventricles, the 3rd ventricle, and the 4th ventricle.
Cerebrum
The largest part of the brain, that allows for higher functions like thinking, emotion, and voluntary movement.
Cerebellum
Located underneath the cerebrum, it handles balance, posture, and muscle coordination.
Brainstem
Connects brain to spinal cord and controls breathing and heart rate.
Gyri
Coils or bumps in brain tissue that is a result of rapid development.
Sulci
Shallow grooves in brain tissue.
Corpus callosum
A band of nerve fibers (white matter) that connects and allows communication between the left and right cerebral hemispheres.
