which motor tract is responsible for facilitating bilateral posture and gross limb movements and integrates vision/auditory cues (i.e turning head towards stimulus)?
reticulospinal tract
which motor tract is responsible for coordinating head and neck with eye movements and stabilizing sight and posture?
medial vestinbulospinal tract
which motor tract is responsible for extensor tone to maintain an upright posture against gravity?
lateral vestibulospinal
which motor tract is responsible for postural and course movements of the neck, shoulder, and trunk?
medial corticospinal tracts
which motor tract is responsible for fractionated precise movement of the distal limbs?
lateral corticospinal
which motor tract is responsible for assisting the lateral corticospinal tracts w fracitonated upper extremity movement?
rubrospinal tract
which motor tract is responsible for voluntary control of the face, tongue, pharynx, and superficial neck mms (SCM, traps, ect)
corticobulbar/ corticobrainstem tract
the reticulospinal tract decussates where?
projects bilaterally in the spinal cord
the reticulospinal tract terminates where?
medial motor neuron pools
the medial vestibulospinal tract decussates where?
projects bilaterally in cervical and upper thoracic cord
the medial vestibulospinal tract terminates where?
motor neurons of the neck and upper trunk
where does the lateral vestibulospinal tract decusate?
it doesnt, it stays ipsilateral
where does the lateral vestibulospinal tract terminate?
ventral horn motor neurons
where does the medial corticospinal tract decussate?
remains ipsilateral @ the medulla. once in the spinal cord, it goes contralateral ipsilateral, and bilateral to neck, trunk, and postural limbs
where does the medial corticospinal tract terminate?
bilateral projections to cervical and thoracic horns
where does the lateral corticospinal tract decusate?
pyramids of the medulla (88% of fibers cross here)
where does the lateral corticospinal tract terminate?
lateral neuron pools of the ventral horn
where does the rubrospinal tract decusate?
right below the red nucleus in the midbrain
where does the rubrospinal tract terminate?
cervical spinal cord and motor neurons for wrists and finger extensors
where does the corticobulbar/corticobrainstem tract decusate?
Gives off fibers to the cranial nerve motor nuclei in the midbrain, pons, and medulla. Most fibers cross near the level of the CN nucleus they control
where does the corticobulbar/corticobrainstem tract terminate?
cranial nerve motor nuclei
