Positive linear relationship
Increases in one variable corresponds with increases in another (time spent studying and grades).
Negative linear relationship
Increases in one variable corresponds with decreases in another (speed and accuracy).
Curvilinear relationship
The direction of the relationship changes at a certain point (temperature and happiness, age and cognitive ability, stress and performance).
