New cards

what happens in a stroke?

Blood, containing oxygen and nutrients, is necessary to keep all cells alive. When blood cannot reach areas of the cerebrum, brain cells die and their functions are lost. Depending on where those brain cells dies, determines what happens in a stroke; for example: lose of movement, loss of speech, and changes in sensation.
