Masquerade
A performance that involves the covering of a human identity by a mask or material, allowing for the emergence of another presence.
Eégún
A Yoruba term often translated as 'ancestral masquerade,' related to ancestral legitimacy and authority made manifest.
Amòdu
A type of cloth essential to the masquerade costume in Ìkòlé, also known as Jépè.
Egígún
Masquerades in the Ekìtì region of Nigeria, differentiated from other Yoruba masquerades, particularly in their costumes and performances.
