An individual or organisation that owns shares in a business.
Stakeholder
An individual or group that affects or is affected by a business.
Shareholder approach
A strategy where a business focuses on maximising returns to shareholders.
Stakeholder approach
A strategy where a business considers the interests of all stakeholder groups.
Shareholder value
A measure combining dividends and changes in the share price.
Shareholder interests
Higher profits, dividends and a rising share price.
Employee interests
Higher wages, job security and good working conditions.
Manager interests
Growth, job security, status and financial rewards.
Customer interests
Good quality, fair prices and good customer service.
Supplier interests
Regular orders, long-term relationships and prompt payment.
Creditor interests
Being repaid on time and financial security.
Local community interests
Jobs, local investment and limited environmental damage.

Tax revenue, employment and businesses following laws.
