Policy
A course of action or principle adopted by an organization or individual to influence decisions and outcomes.
Policymaking Process
The steps taken by policymakers and government officials to create and implement policies.
Federal Legislative Branch
The part of the government consisting of Congress, which is responsible for making federal laws, including the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Congress
The national legislative body of the U.S. consisting of two chambers: the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Senate
The upper chamber of Congress, composed of two members from each state, serving as representatives of the states.
House of Representatives
The lower chamber of Congress, composed of representatives based on a state's population.
Executive Branch
The branch of government responsible for implementing and enforcing laws, headed by the President.
Administrative Agencies
Government bodies responsible for carrying out specific government functions and implementing laws through rulemaking.
Interest Groups
Organizations that seek to influence public policy by advocating for specific issues or interests.
Public Policy Problems
Issues that require government action and address the concerns of the public.
