Nobel behavior/shaping
Behavior can and does emerge through the application of operant principles
Can emerge as a consequence of the reinforcement of successive approximations of a target behavior
Behavior chaining
Breaking down complex task into smaller steps. This requires tasks analysis and once defined you can use basic reinforcement to elict each part
Forward chaining
Starts with first behavior and toward final behavior (harder)
Backward chaining
Backward chaining: Starts with last behavior and towards first
Insight Learning
Unexplained behavior that doesn’t involve learning for the behavior to happen
Ex: Sultan the monkey had the insight to stack boxes and climb them to reach bananas
Harlow claims insight evolves and overtime it becomes second nature
Superstitious behavior
Coincidental reinforcement: can mislead one to believe inaccurately that behavior has operated on the environment
