Hunger is at it’s highest rate worldwide since 2005

Goal 2 Motivation

2.3 billion people worldwide are still currently dealing with hunger/food insecurity.

Goal 3 Motivation

A decrease in vaccination rates and overall health, with a simultaneous increase in illness rates.

Goal 4 Motivation

Access to education reduces inequality, breaks poverty cycles, increases sustainable living, and promotes peace.

Violence towards women is still at a high.

Goal 6 Motivation

Access to clean water and hygiene is a human right.

Goal 7 Motivation

Clean energy is a crucial step towards decreasing pollution and preventing climate change.

1 in 5 youth lack education or a job

Economic growth creates jobs and stable income for people, which in turn promotes equality and peace.

A decrease in global inequalities makes it significantly easier to pursue other SDGs because some goals require capita to help promote/accomplish.

Goal 11 Motivation

More than half of the world’s population lives within cities and this is expected to grow by 70%. Human activity especially within cities is a huge contributor to pollution and thus climate change, so making cities greener is crucial to a greener future.

Goal 12 Motivation

Motivation for responsible consumption and production is most strongly attributed to a fear of future generation suffering due to our lack of care. Currently we are consuming more than we can produce, which will eventually lead to a complete delpetion of natural resources.

Goal 13 Motivation

The past 11 years have been the hotest ever recorded and natural weather disasters has more than doubled.

Goal 14 Motivation

5-12 metric tons of plastic is annually dumped into the ocean.

Goal 15 Motivation

Protecting biodiversity and terrestial biomes helps with the completion of other SDGs such as taking climate action.

Goal 16 Motivation

Protects civilians’ health and well being through reducing political conflict, reducing conflict, and upholding individuals rights.

Goal 17 Motivation

More countries cooperation means more during and larger positive impacts.

Goal 1 CE Relevance and Progress

More Civ-E projects means more jobs which helps battle poverty.

Progress: STAGNENT due to natural disasters destroying infrastructure.

Goal 2 CE Relevance and Progress

Help improve irrigation and driangage routes to promote food growth.

Moderate progress: drop by 83 million people with food insecurity

Goal 3 CE Relevance and Progress

Help create safer traffic patterns and be conscious of hazardous chemical waste from projects.

Very little progress on traffic patterns and moderate progress on hazardous waste.

Goal 4 CE Relevance and Progress

Build infrastructure that promotes education - schools and roads to schools

Progress in that completion of all school levels has gone up

Goal 5 CE Relevance and Progress

Promote gender equality in the work place through opportunities and pay.

Yes - increase in female seats in parliament and reforms will promote this to grow.

Goal 6 CE Relevance and Progress

Be conscious of where we build and how we dump hazardous waste.

Access has grown BUT many people still lack access to clean water and hygiene.

Goal 7 CE Relevance and Progress

Expand infrastructure that uses clean energy

Moderate progress: renewable capacity in developing nations is 13% and in 8% in developed.

Goal 8 CE Relevance and Progress

Focus on building resilient and lasting infrastructure, protect labor rights, and promote use of sustainably procurable materials.

Goal 9 CE Relevance and Progress

Industrialize areas sustainably, build resilient structures and update those already built to be more sustainable.

Manufacturing growth has promote job growth. We have the lowest unemployment since the 08 crash.

Goal 10 CE Relevance and Progress

Promote equality through work and pay. Create infrastructure that promotes access to work, food, water, and education. Be disability friendly with design choices when building.

Less than 10% poverty rate in most countries and overall societies have become more equitable since covid.

Goal 11 CE Relevance and Progress

Improve transportation and safety of infrastructure and roads. Create affordable housing and improve resiliency of structures.

Bad: 1.6 billion people still lack adequate housing BUT 57% of countries reported increased spending towards affordable housing.

Goal 12 CE Relevance and Progress

Procure resources sustainably and responsibly. Manage hazardous waste safely.

Regression in recycled materials - for Civ-Es, the DOT restrictions on recycled materials being allowed in traffic infustructure is detrimental.

Missed the 2020 goal/target

Strengthen infrastructure resilience towards natural disasters.

Still need A LOT OF WORK BUTTTTT we have missed the catastrophic +4º C warming we feared.

Goal 14 CE Relevance and Progress

Reduce construction waste that ends up in waterways, more sustainable infrastructure near and in water that wont deteriorate and cause harm to the ecosystem.

More ocean is protected then ever BUT half of key areas still need protect AND we have regressed in ocean acidification.

Goal 15 CE Relevance and Progress

Sustainably acquire materials from forests. Plant more trees than we procure. Reduce the amount of deforestation done for the purpose of clearing land to build.

Positive: 155 countries have created targets to promote more biodiversity

Negatively: 48,000+ animals are still threatened with extinction and we have lost 160,000 mi² of forest in the last decade.

Goal 16 CE Relevance and Progress

Help international cooperation through taking part in international projects.

Only 89 countries have national human right institutions that are completely compliant with UN standards…

BUT homicides have dripped by 12% in recent years and 44.3% of countries have laws preventing legal discrimination.

Goal 17 CE Relevance and Progress

Work internationally on projects and tech that will promote sustainability.

Developing countries are being left behind in sustainable building because they can’t afford it.

BUT $4 Trillion is being soent to fund green tech innovation right now.
