Magnetic Flux Density (B)
A measure of the magnetic field in a given area, expressed in webers per square meter (Wb/m²).
Ampère's Law
A fundamental law relating the integrated magnetic field around a closed loop to the electric current passing through the loop.
Current Density (J)
The electric current per unit area of cross-section, measured in amperes per square meter (A/m²).
Magnetization Vector (M)
A vector that represents the density of magnetic dipole moments in a material, indicating its response to an external magnetic field.
Magnetic Susceptibility (χ)
A dimensionless ratio that indicates how much a material will become magnetized in an applied magnetic field.
Diamaagnetic Material
A material that is weakly repelled by a magnetic field and carries no magnetic moment.
Paramagnetic Material
A material that has a small, positive susceptibility to magnetic fields, and whose magnetic dipoles align with the field.
Ferromagnetic Material
A material that exhibits strong magnetic properties and can be permanently magnetized.
Magnetic Hysteresis
The lag between changes in the magnetic field strength and the magnetization of a material.
Boundary Conditions
Conditions that must be satisfied at the interface between two different media, such as a perfect conductor.
