1/7
Vocabulary flashcards covering the basic organization of a cell, cellular components, and unicellular vs. multicellular organisms.
Cell
The basic structural and functional unit of living organisms.
Multicellular organism (Être pluricellulaire)
A living organism that is made up of multiple cells, such as in onion epidermal tissue.
Unicellular organism (Être unicellulaire)
A living organism that consists of a single, individual cell, such as a yeast.
Cell membrane (Membrane)
The outer boundary that encloses the cytoplasm and defines the structure of a cell.
Cytoplasm (Cytoplasme)
The internal fluid and content of the cell bounded by the membrane, surrounding the nucleus.
Nucleus (Noyau)
The central cell structure that houses the cell's genetic material (DNA).
DNA (ADN)
The genetic material located inside the cell nucleus.
Yeast (Levure)
A unicellular organism studied under optical and electron microscopy, capable of dividing by budding.
