Doctrine

A belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a church or a group.

Deity

A creator or god with divine status or qualities.

Dogma

An official system of principles regarding faith or morals proclaimed to be unquestionably true by a particular church or group.

Ritual

An established or prescribed procedure for a religious or other rite.

Rite

A formal or ceremonial act or procedure proscribed in religious practice.

Assuage

To make an unpleasant feeling less severe or intense.

Heresy

A belief or opinion that does not agree with the official position of a particular religion.

Worship

Reverent honor or formal ceremonies paid to a god or any other object regarded as sacred.

Transcendence

A state of existence beyond the physical or normal level of consciousness.

Anthropomorphic

Assigning human characteristics to non-human animals, objects, etc.
