Alendronic Acid
A bisphosphonate medication used to prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men. It attaches to the hydroxyapatite crystals within bone to slow down growth and dissolution. Therefore, reducing turnover of bone remodeling and increasing bone density.
Allopurinal
A medication used to lower uric acid levels in the blood to prevent gout attacks and treat renal stones. It inhibits the enzyme xanthine oxidase, which plays a key role in uric acid production. Can also be used to lower uric acid levels from cancer treatment, but it must be used before the treatment begins.
Amiodarone
Used to treat arrithymias, particularly when other drugs prove ineffective. Can cause Acute Parphyrias in excessive dose, these are attacks of severe abdominal pain and neurological issues, like back pain and leg pain.
Alogliptin
Increases insulin secretion and lowers glucagon secretion
Aciclovir
Used to treat herpes and common cold sores. Can be available in eye ointment, cream or tablet form.
