Small Scale Map
A map that shows a large portion of the Earth's surface but has less details in the data it is displaying.
Supranational Organization
An alliance which consists of multiple countries, traditionally 3 or more, that work together to achieve common goals or address specific issues or challenges that impact the states.
Census Tract
A small geographic area defined by the United States Census Bureau used to better understand data at a local level, such as the median income of an area.
Zoning
Settlement planning decisions made by governments using quantitative and qualitative data to prepare for future growth.
Business Geospatial Data Usage (Local Scale)
The application of geospatial data organized by census tracts to analyze local median income and open stores where target customers are located.
Business Geospatial Data Usage (National and Global Scales)
The tracking of national trends to boost branch productivity and the evaluation of global market changes to find developing economies for production or new markets.
Individual Local Scale Data Usage
The use of geographic data and GPS by individuals to navigate from place A to place B and compare local area opportunities to the surrounding region.
Individual Global Scale Data Usage
The use of geospatial data by individuals to gain a better understanding of the world in which they live.
