Scientific Method
A systematic method used to solve problems in science.
Identifying the Problem
Determining the question or problem to be studied, e.g., 'How does light affect plant growth?'
Hypothesis
An initial assumption that can be tested through experimentation, e.g., 'The more light received, the faster the plant grows.'
Manipulated Variable
The factor that is controlled and changed in the experiment.
Responding Variable
The outcome that is observed and measured in the experiment.
Constant Variable
The factors that are kept the same throughout the experiment.
Experiment Planning
Preparing materials and equipment, and outlining the procedures in a systematic manner.
Running the Experiment
Executing the experiment while taking precautions to avoid accidents and achieve accurate results.
Data Collection
Conducting the experiment and recording observations in tables or graphs.
Data Analysis
Analyzing data to observe patterns or trends.
Conclusion
Determining whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected based on the obtained data.
Scientific Report
A report that includes title, objective, hypothesis, results, discussion, and conclusion.
