Planning process
A process providing information needed by top management to make effective resource allocation decisions that enable an organization to reach its objectives.
Primary benefit of the planning process
Maximizes productivity and prevents resources from being wasted on projects with little chance of success.
Barangay
The local community area in which the main problem is identified in Step 1 of the exercise.
Town of Dagohoy sample goal
Improvement of primary health care services for children in the town of Dagohoy.
S.M.A.R.T. Objective
An objective developed in Step 6 of the procedure to help reach the defined goal.
Alternative strategies
Strategies developed in Step 7 of the planning procedure to reach the defined goal.

Planning Process Exercise Procedure
A 7-step process involving identifying a barangay problem, determining why it is a problem, listing resources, naming active agencies/organizations, developing a goal, setting a S.M.A.R.T. objective, and developing alternative strategies.
