Boiling point
The temperature at which a liquid boils.
Melting point
The point at which particles move so fast that they break free from their fixed pattern positions.
Sublimation
The process when the particles of a solid gain so much energy that they transform directly into a gas.
Condensation
The change of state that is the opposite of vaporization, such as when clouds form from water vapor in the sky.
Vaporization
The change of state where liquid water changes into water vapor.
Evaporation
A type of vaporization exemplified by a puddle drying up after a rain shower.
Boiling
The process characterized by gas bubbles forming throughout a liquid, such as when a pot of water on a stove reaches its boiling point.
