What are the performance metrics of CCPI?
The CCPI assesses countries in four key categories:
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions (40%)
Renewable Energy (20%)
Energy Use (20%)
Climate Policy (20%).
Did Global GHG emissions increase or decrease in 2022?
GHG emissions increased in 2022, with atmospheric CO2 levels 50% higher than pre-industrial levels
Which position did India secure?
India secured the 7th position in CCPI 2024, moving up from the 8th spot in CCPI 2023.
What were India’s Rankings Sector Wise?
GHG Emissions: 9th
Energy Use: 10th,
Both attributed to lower per capita energy use.
Climate Policy: 10th spot, indicating moderate progress.
Renewable Energy: Ranked 37th, showing a decline from 24th in CCPI 2023.
Which 3 G20 countries are among the high performers?
