It determines the structure of a process, the sequence of operations, resources, and controls needed for a particular process

describe what a project is - in process design?

a non repetitive process that has particular objectives to be accomplished in a limited time frame and a limited budget

What is automation, and describe an example of it in process design.

Automation is the use of machinary like robots to enable it to operate automatically= to make the process faster. an example is the automation of cars

What is the design process methodology?

1) define the production process (input and capacity)

2) Production process development : conceptualizes the design, builds the protoype, defines specs

3)buy the equipment, hire people, start trial runs, process flow diagram

What is a layout?

a layout is a location that indicates where the departments are, equipment and work centers in a facility

Can you name the types of layouts and give an example for each?

product layout - smooth flow of product for example for customers to walk through

process layout - a layout of a building to show what each rooms proccess would be like - for example : a hospital

hybrid layout - conceptualized in different locations

fixed layout - something that stays in the same location but is moved if needed - like working on an airplane in the making.
