Vertical Angles
Two angles created by intersecting lines that only share a vertex and are congruent.
Linear Pairs
Two adjacent angles that create a line and always add up to 180∘.
Point
A geometric location in space.
Line
A 1-dimensional geometric figure with 2 arrows that never end.
Plane
A 2-dimensional flat surface characterized by length and width, containing 3 non-collinear points.
Segment
A 1-dimensional section of a line with 2 endings.
Ray
A 1-dimensional part of a line with 1 ending.
Opposite Rays
Two rays that share an endpoint and go in opposite directions.
Angle
Two rays that share an endpoint, measured in degrees, that add up to 360∘.
Distance
How far apart two things are; it is always positive and requires a label.
Congruent
Identical objects or figures with no difference in measurement.
Midpoint
A point that divides a segment into 2 equal or congruent parts and is always in the middle.
Bisect
To cut into 2 equal or congruent parts.
Perpendicular Bisector
A line, segment, or ray that cuts a segment into 2 equal parts at a 90∘ angle.
Angle Bisector
A line, segment, or ray that cuts an angle into 2 equal parts.
Supplementary Angles
Two angles whose sum is always 180∘.
Complementary Angles
Two angles whose sum is always 90∘.
