A potassium ion that has lost one electron, resulting in $19$ protons and $18$ electrons for an overall charge of $+1$.

Superscript

The notation used to indicate the charge of an ion, such as the plus sign in $K^+$.

The core of a potassium atom, which contains $19$ protons and $20$ neutrons.
