Vocabulary flashcards covering the anatomical impressions found on the mediastinal surfaces of the right and left lungs.
Right Lung Cardiac Impression (L'empreinte cardiaque du poumon droit)
The cardiac impression on the right lung, characterized as being smaller or less pronounced than on the left lung ("moindre que sur le poumon gauche").
Left Lung Cardiac Impression (L'empreinte cardiaque du poumon gauche)
The cardiac impression on the left lung, which extends inferiorly and anteriorly into the lingula ("qui se prolonge par la lingula").
Lingula
The structure of the left lung that serves as the continuation or extension of the left cardiac impression.
Tracheal Impression (L'empreinte trachéale)
An impression produced by the trachea, found on both the right lung and the left lung.
Esophageal Impression (L'empreinte de l'œsophage)
An impression caused by the esophagus, present on both the right lung and the left lung.
Superior Vena Cava Impression (L'empreinte de la veine cave supérieure)
A major vascular impression located specifically on the right lung.
Azygos Vein Impression (L'empreinte de la veine azygos)
A venous impression located specifically on the right lung.
Right Brachiocephalic Vein Impression (L'empreinte de la veine brachio-céphalique droite)
A venous impression located on the right lung.
Right Subclavian Vein Impression (L'empreinte de la veine subclavière droite)
A venous impression found on the right lung.
Aortic Impression (L'empreinte de l'aorte)
An impression on the left lung produced by the aorta, comprising both the aortic arch and the descending aorta ("avec l'arc et la partie descendante").
First Rib Impression (L'empreinte de la première côte)
A musculoskeletal impression present specifically on the left lung.
Left Brachiocephalic Vein Impression (L'empreinte de la veine brachio-céphalique gauche)
A vascular impression located specifically on the left lung.
Left Subclavian Vein Impression (L'empreinte de la veine subclavière gauche)
A vascular impression located specifically on the left lung.
