Wave Speed
The speed of a wave is the distance traveled in 1 second.
Speed equation
The speed (V) of a wave can be calculated using the equation V = d/t, where d is distance and t is time.
Units of speed
Speed is measured in meters per second (m/s).
Example calculation of wave speed
If a wave travels 100 meters in 4 seconds, its speed is calculated as 100 ÷ 4 = 25 m/s.
Distance travelled in waves
The distance covered by a wave can vary based on its speed and the time it travels.
Formula for distance
The distance (d) can be calculated using the formula d = V × t, where V is speed and t is time.
