Physics
The study of how matter and energy and their interactions. It is succinctly expressed in mathematical equations. It is also an experimental science.
Classical physics
Refers to physics that were developed before the 20th century. This includes mechanics, thermodynamics, and electromagnetism.
Modern Physics
Refers to the body of physics knowledge that emerged from 20th century up to the present. This includes quantum physics and relativity.
Modern Physics
This class of physics primarily revolves around the study of particles that are smaller than the atomic size and are moving at the speed of light.
Mechanics
Focuses on the study of the relationship and interaction of force and motion.
Thermodynamics
Focuses on the interaction of heat and temperature and how it is converted into work.
Acoustics
Deals with the study of mechanical waves in different media.
Acoustics
This encompasses production, control, transmission, reception, and effects of mechanical waves.
Optics
Deals with the study of the nature and properties of light, its behaviors, and interactions.
Electromagnetism
Deals with the study of how electricity and magnetism interrelated with one another.
Atomic Physics
Focuses on the nature and properties of the atom with respect to its electron configuration.
Nuclear Physics
Focuses on the interaction and activities in the nucleus of an atom.
Quantum Mechanics
Deals with the interaction of matter and energy within the constructs of quantum physics such as the wave-particle duality.
Relativistic Physics
Deals with the study of the universe's space, time, mass, and energy at very high speed.
Tools
Refer to any tangible or intangible product that helps in performing a task. Some examples are laboratory apparatus and software programs.
Processes
Refers to any specific methods or procedures that are used to transform raw materials into functional products.
Products
Are any tangible and intangible outputs that are created from the utilization of both tools and processes.
