Trans-Saharan trade
The transportation of goods across the Saharan desert between Sub-Saharan Africa and the northern Arab and European worlds, also referred to as Caravan trade.

An alternative name for Trans-Saharan trade, which was carried out across the Saharan desert.
Camels
Animals introduced in Africa during 100AD that led to the beginning of Trans-Saharan trade, replacing horses and donkeys because they were more resistant to desert conditions and could move faster in the desert.
Commodities of Trans-Saharan trade
Goods traded across the desert, including salt, textile, copper, silver, woolen garments, brass, tin, horses, millet, sorghum, wheat, gum, ostrich feathers, livestock, and gold.
