Thesis Statement
An argument that you want to prove, presented in the introduction of a comment essay.
Introduction (Comment)
The opening section of a comment essay that presents the thesis statement, provides examples, rhetorical questions, facts, or quotes, and ends with a mini conclusion.
Main Part (Comment)
The body of a comment essay where you express your own opinion, state arguments for your opinion, back up arguments with examples, and eventually state a counter argument.
Conclusion (Comment)
The final paragraph of a comment essay that sums up the evidence presented, restates the thesis, and may add personal feelings or an outlook on how the issue will develop in the future.
Content Criteria (Creative Task)
Requirements for a creative task specifying no contradictions with the source text, inclusion of key source details, adherence to the demanded perspective, and alignment of the main thematic focus with task requirements.
Demanded Perspective
A component of content in a creative task that must be adhered to across language, style, perception, and characteristics.
Ability to Express Oneself
An evaluation area in a creative task requiring that the language used suits both the target audience and the given situation.

Lines of Argument: My Point of View
Phrases used in comment writing to express personal perspective, including 'Considering the fact that…', 'I am convinced (that)…', and 'to be in favour of sth'.
Lines of Argument: Balancing Points of View
Phrases used to weigh different perspectives, such as 'On the one hand…, on the other hand…', 'In contrast to A, B…', and 'Supporters/Opponents of… argue that…'.
Personal Conclusion (Language Support)
Expressions used to summarize a final stance, such as 'Having considered the different arguments, I…', 'To sum up, I am of the opinion that…', and 'As far as I am concerned…'
