Absolute value
Alpha-window-1
Scientific Notation
EE (lives right above comma, just press 2nd, then comma, and whatever the scientific notation is raised to)
Remainders
Two ways:
Math-num-0 ( if you need help just instead of enter when you go to the zero press plus for the catalog help, and I’ll show you everything goes. After that start inputting numbers from the multiple-choice answer choices into the parentheses with the options depending on what the question is asking.)
Catalog help
Instead of pressing, enter press, the addition button
Roots
Square root: 2nd-x² button
Higher root: alpha-window-6-enter your preferred root and then the number in the radical
List and how to clear it
Get to list to edit: stat-4-enter-input lost you want to clear-enter again
get to list to edit 2nd way: stat-1-enter- scroll up to list heading (L1)-press clear-press enter
Mean/median/standard deviation
Start by clearing a list. Then take new list from problem and enter into list (L1). To get there: stat-1-enter values from list.
Then, go back to Home Screen after list is entered (calculator will save it for further short cut use). Next step: stat-calc-1 (1 var stats, calculating statistics from one list)-enter info of what list using (wherever we just put information)- delete other info shown- go down to calculate and press enter
The first option with the x with a bar on top of it, is what we use for AVERAGE/MEAN
if you scroll down to med, that is where the MEDIAN is
Sx is the standard deviation of the SAMPLE
the little weird o with an x next to it is standard deviation of the POPULATION
Expected values
First you do the same process with the first list, but then under FreqList we have to make a second list from whatever graph we are given. So having both value lists, we still have the same info.
Factorials
Enter Number-Alpha-window-9-enter
Also under: enter number-math-prob-4
Y-vars
Put expression we want to evaluate in: y=—and enter into one of these options, to save for later shortcut use.
Go back to Home Screen. Use alpha- trace - enter on whatever section u used for first part (probably Y1) - then in parentheses, put in whatever we are using for value of X- press enter
Storing and recalling values
Use the sto—> option on calculator, if you don’t want to leave Home Screen to store numbers in lie, y vars or lists. Enter number first, then sto, and x, and then enter to store that number as x. The calculator will r,Weber it as x for future use and can be very helpful, for that service. You can sto more than just x, yet also y for problems that call for both of those
