Isoceles
A triangle with 2 equal sides and 2 equal angles
Obtuse
An angle that measure more than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees
Perpendicular
Lines that intersect to form right angles
Parallel
Lines or segments that never intersect because ethe distance between them is constant.
Diagonal
A straight line segment that connects two corners of a shape that are not right next to each other
Vertical
Angles formed from intersecting lines, they are across from each other, they only share a vertex, they are congruent.
Rigid
A shape or figure that keeps its exact size and shape even when it is moved , turned, or flipped around
Scalene
A triangle with no equal sides
Reflexive
Any geometric figure, line segment, or angle is always equal or congruent to itself.
Example: AB ≈ AB or triangleABC ≈triangleABC
Dilation
Changes the size of a shape (making it bigger or smaller) without changing it's shape or angles
Theorem
A rule or statement that has proven to be true using logical steps, definitions, and other already proven facts
Pythagorean
In any right triangle, the area of the square built on the longest side equals the sum of the areas of the squares on the other two shorter sides
Parallelogram
A flat four-sided shape (a quadrilateral) where both pairs of opposite sides are parallel
Quadrilateral
A polygon that has exactly four sides, four corners, and four angles
Similar
Almost the same, but not exact
