A superficial anterior forearm muscle that flexes the wrist; innervated by the Median nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Flexor Carpi Ulnaris
A superficial anterior forearm muscle that flexes and adducts the wrist; innervated by the Ulnar nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Flexor Digitorum Superficialis
A superficial anterior forearm muscle that flexes digits 2−5 and flexes the wrist; innervated by the Median nerve; crosses the wrist and adjacent phalanges.
Flexor Digitorum Profundus
A deep anterior forearm muscle that flexes digits 2−5 and flexes the wrist; innervated 21 by the median nerve and 21 by the ulnar nerve; crosses the wrist and adjacent phalanges.
Flexor Pollicis Longus
A deep anterior forearm muscle that flexes the pollex and wrist; innervated by the Median nerve; crosses the wrist and thumb joints.
Pronator Quadrus
A deep anterior forearm muscle that pronates the forearm; innervated by the Median nerve; crosses the elbow joint.
Brachioradialis
A superficial muscle listed with the posterior forearm that flexes the elbow; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the elbow joint.
Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus
A superficial posterior forearm muscle that extends and abducts the wrist; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis
A superficial posterior forearm muscle that extends and abducts the wrist; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Extensor Digitorum
A superficial posterior forearm muscle that extends digits 2−5 and extends the wrist; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Extensor Digiti Minimi
A superficial posterior forearm muscle that extends digit 5 and extends the wrist; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the wrist joint.

A deep posterior forearm muscle that extends the indicis; innervated by the Radial nerve; crosses the wrist joint.
Abductor Digiti Minimi
A medial muscle located in the hypothenar eminence that abducts digit 5; innervated by the Ulnar nerve.
Flexor Digiti Minimi Brevis
A medial muscle located in the hypothenar eminence that flexes digit 5; innervated by the Ulnar nerve.
Opponens Digiti Minimi
A medial muscle located in the hypothenar eminence that opposes digit 5 by abducting, flexing, and rotating it; innervated by the Ulnar nerve.
Abductor Pollicis Brevis
A lateral muscle located in the thenar eminence that abducts the pollex; innervated by the Median nerve.
Flexor Pollicis Brevis
A lateral muscle located in the thenar eminence that flexes the pollex; innervated by the Median nerve.
Opponens Pollicis
A lateral muscle located in the thenar eminence that opposes the pollex by abducting, rotating, and flexing it; innervated by the Median nerve.
Antebrachium Fascial Compartments
The two primary muscle compartments of the forearm—Anterior (Flexor-Pronator) and Posterior (Extensor-Supinator)—separated by the interosseous membrane and intermuscular septa.
Hypothenar Eminence
The medial compartment/eminence of the hand containing muscles innervated by the ulnar nerve (Abductor digiti minimi, Flexor digiti minimi brevis, Opponens digiti minimi).
Thenar Eminence
The lateral compartment/eminence of the hand containing muscles innervated by the median nerve (Abductor pollicis brevis, Flexor pollicis brevis, Opponens pollicis).
