E waste

According to United Nations, the amount of e waste produced by the Philippines reached a staggering 540 million tonnes in 2022, that is about 5kg per person.

According top Basel Network Action, a non profit organisation that stop industrialised companies from dumping toxic waste, electronics, warns that AI boom could create unprecedented hardware waste, as discarded gear may reach 617 million tonnes by 2050 (micro- chips)

In Singapore, all community centres in SG will have e waste bins by June 2026, bringing convenience for people to dispose of their e waste

The Extended Producer Responsibility, an environmental policy that make manufacturers and importers accountable for their entire lifecycle of their product, especially during waste management and post consumer stages, moving waste management cost and physical collection duties onto businesses and leading to smarter packaging.

In Philippines the E-Waste ‘to! Iwasto! Project hope to raise awareness of proper e-waste management and provide Filipinos with the means to dispose their household e-waste properly such that e waste can be salvage and recycled
