What are the adverse reactions for Short-Acting Beta-2 Agonists?
Tachycardia, tremors, nervousness, heart palpitations, hypokalemia (at high doses).
What are the adverse effects for Long acting Beta 2 Antagonist?
Tachycardia, headache, muscle tremors, severe asthma exacerbation if used as monotherapy.
What are the adverse reactions for Antocholigernics?
Dry mouth, urinary retention, constipation, blurred vision, cough, throat irritation,
What are the adverse reactions for Inhaled Corticosteroids?
Oral candidiasis (thrush), hoarseness, dysphonia, localized throat irritation.
What are the adverse reactions to Systemic Corticosteroids?
Hyperglycemia, fluid retention, hypertension, mood changes, peptic ulcers, infection risk, adrenal suppression.
What are the adverse effects of leukotriene modifiers?
Neuropsychiatric events (agitation, depression, suicidal thoughts), headache, elevated liver enzymes.
What are the adverse reactions to Ace Inhibitors(pril)?
ACE Mnemonic: Angioedema (swelling of face/tongue, airway risk), Cough (dry, persistent), Electrolytes (Hyperkalemia / ↑K+). Also: First-dose hypotension and fetal toxicity (avoid in pregnancy).
What are the adverse reactions to ARBs (Angiotensin II-Receptor Blockers)-Sartans
Hyperkalemia (↑K+), hypotension, and dizziness. Angioedema is rare. Fetal toxicity (contraindicated in pregnancy). Unlike ACE inhibitors, these do not cause a dry cough.
What are the adverse reactions of beta blockers(Olol)?
4 B’s: Bradycardia, low BP, Bronchospasm (wheezing), and Blood sugar masking (hides hypoglycemia signs). Also: Orthostatic hypotension and worsening HF (edema, crackles).
What are the adverse reactions of Combined Alpha/Beta-Blockers?
Significant risk of bronchoconstriction and bradycardia. May cause CNS toxicity (fatigue, dizziness). Similar risks to beta-blockers regarding masking hypoglycemia
What are the adverse reaction for anticoagulants?
Bleeding Risk: GI bleeds, hematuria, and bruising. Warfarin requires consistent Vitamin K intake (avoid large fluctuations in leafy greens).
What are the adverse reactions of antiplatelets?
GI bleeding and gastric upset. Aspirin Specific: Tinnitus (toxicity) and Reye’s syndrome (do not give to children with viral illness).
