The start or opening of the cervix

Part of the peritoneal  cavity that extends from the iliac crests superiorly and to the pelvic diaphragm inferiorly

Uterine isthmus

The slightly constricted portion of the uterus where the uterine body meets the uterine cervix

Uterus

A muscular, hollow organ where the fertilized ovum embeds

Vagina

This anatomy extends from the external genitalia to the cervix of the uterus

Adnexa

The peritoneal cavity spaces located posterior to the broad ligaments

Anterior cul-de-sac

A shallow peritoneal space located between the anterior wall of the uterus and the urinary bladder

Broad ligaments

This extends between the uterus and ovary

Follicles

Fluid-filled sacs that contain developing eggs

Ovaries

Paired, bilateral, almond-shaped, female reproductive organs

Ovum

Another name for the human egg

Posterior cul-de-sac

The most posterior and dependent portion of the peritoneal sac

Space of Retzius

Between the anterior bladder wall and pubic symphysis

Ureters

Muscular tubes that are the part of the urinary system that carry urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder

Urinary bladder

Part of the urinary system and serves as a reservoir for the urine that is formed in the kidneys
