Process of identifying substances present in a sample without measurements

Quantitative analysis

Process of measuring the quantity of a substance in a sample, providing numerical data

Mole

Unit of amount; the amount of substance consisting of 6.02 x 10^23 entities

Entities

General term used to refer to particles of matter, such as atoms, ions, molecules, formula units, or cupcakes

Avogadro's Number (NA)

Number of entities in 1 mole of a substance, equal to 6.02 x 10^23

Amount (n)

Quantity of a substance measured in moles, represents the number of moles present in a sample

Scientific Notation

Way to express really big or really small numbers using a coefficient between 1 and 10 multiplied by a power of 10

Multiplying using Scientific Notation

Multiply the coefficients and add the exponents (with the same base) to get the product in scientific notation

Dividing using Scientific Notation

Divide the coefficients and subtract the exponents (with the same base) to get the quotient in scientific notation
