Ribosome
A cell's protein factory where mRNA is translated into proteins.
Translation
The process by which the mRNA strand is decoded to synthesize a protein.
Codon
A sequence of three consecutive nucleotides that specifies a single amino acid.
mRNA (messenger RNA)
A copy of the DNA strand that carries instructions for protein synthesis from the nucleus to the ribosome.
Amino Acid
The building blocks of proteins, with each codon corresponding to one specific amino acid.
Genetic Code
The set of rules by which information encoded in genetic material is translated into proteins.
Start Codon
A specific codon that signals the beginning of translation.
Stop Codon
A codon that signals the end of protein synthesis.
GAA
A codon that stands for Glutamic Acid.
AAA
A codon that stands for Lysine.
