what is enuresis?
inability of a child to establish proper bladder control resulting in either daytime or nighttime involuntray urination
what is primary enuresis?
occurs in kids over 5 years of age who have never been able to establish proper bladder control
what is secondary enuresis?
diagnosis of a child who has been able to establish proper bladder control but has since lapsed back to wetting the bed
what muscles control bladder emptying?
detrusore and trigone
what is the nerve supply of bladder muscles?
parasympathetic from S2-S4
where does the urogenital diaphragm get nerve supply from?
L2
what is the etiology of primary enuresis?
family history, meds, emotional disturbances, anxiety and ADHD, mechanical cause
what is the etiology of secondary enuresis?
related to stress, trauma or psychological crisis
what is the mechanical etiology of enuresis?
the developing sacrum subject to trauma adjusting can help
what is the management of enuresis?
meds, CMT and counseling
