Who was Jesus to His own relatives? To his relatives, Jesus was someone that they cared for, and wanted to protect from people that were dangers to him (e.g. the Pharisees & Herodians). However in Mark 3, Jesus tells everyone that whoever follows him and preaches his word is his relative. “And looking at those who sat around him, he said, ‘Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.’” Therefore considering that anyone that followed him was his relative, then to his relatives Jesus was someone that they followed, and taught others to follow.

Who was Jesus to John the Baptist?

John the Baptist was a Jewish prophet who was known as the forerunner of Jesus. John was well recognised for preaching about God's ultimate judgement as well as the idea that a Messianic figure is keeping watch over us. He was a devout follower of Jesus and had a deep confidence in him. Jesus was baptised by John in the Jordan River in Nazareth, and as soon as Jesus emerged from the water, God appeared in the sky and declared, "You are my son, whom I love; I am well pleased." John the Baptist, who was regarded as the precursor of Jesus at the time, saw Jesus as the Messiah.

Peter was a Jewish man who was a loyal and faithful disciple to Jesus and worshipped Him. To Peter, Jesus was the Messiah. This is shown in the quote “He asked them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Peter answered him, ‘You are the Messiah.’” Peter went with Jesus up a high mountain during His transfiguration, and offered to serve Jesus by setting up tents for Him, Elijah, and Moses. God then commanded Peter and the other disciples there to serve Jesus for He is the Son of God. It is for these reasons that Peter showed unconditional loyalty towards Jesus, and strongly believed that He was the Messiah, even before God confirmed it.
