General Knowledge

Dress/appearance

  • No more than 3 rings total.

  • Salute with glasses must touch where the glasses frame meets the brow.

  • Tasteful and conservative ankle bracelets may be worn in uniform, but only by females.

  • If wearing cap with Bill the index finger must touch the right tip of the cap’s bill

  • When outdoors, cadet or active duty officers in the Air Force can be readily identified by looking at any of the following 3 cover types, Service hat visor or band, Hat or beret insignia, Flight cap and insignia

  • Females: If pins, combs or barrettes are used, they must be plain and similar in color to your hair

Dates & Time events

  • in the year 1964 the Reserve Officer Training Corps Vitalization Act allowed JROTC to be expanded to all branches of the military.

  • In the year 1911 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, The first JROTC program was established as a merger of high school education with non-compulsory military training.

  • AFJROTC began in 1966 with just 20 units.

  • 24 Time zones

  • The founder of the first JROTC unit was Lt Edgar R. Steevers

Behavior

  • A salute is rendered any time you are outside and the National Anthem is playing

  • A salute can be rendered at marching at attention and standing at attention
