What are the main beliefs of Islam?

Faith (Shahadah), Prayer (Salat), Charity (Zakah), Fasting(Sawm), and Pilgrimage (Hajj) are the Five Pillars of Islam that guide the beliefs and practices of Muslims.

What do each of the pillars do?

  • Faith (Shahadah): The declaration of faith stating that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger, which signifies a Muslim's commitment to their belief.

  • Prayer (Salat): The ritual prayer performed five times a day, which establishes a direct connection with Allah and reinforces the importance of devotion in daily life.

  • Charity (Zakah): The practice of giving a portion of one's wealth to those in need, promoting social equality and responsibility within the community.

  • Fasting (Sawm): The abstention from food, drink, and other physical needs during the month of Ramadan, fostering self-discipline and empathy toward the less fortunate.

  • Pilgrimage (Hajj): The journey to the holy city of Mecca that every Muslim must undertake at least once in their lifetime, symbolizing unity and equality among believers.

What is the geography of the Arabian Penninsula like?

The Arabian Penninsula was a hot and dry place, with temperature rising up and above 100 defrees fahrenheit. It has various desserts like the Empty Quarter, Syrian Desert, and it is surrounded by the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Persian Gulf. They also have mountain ranges like the Hijaz mountains. The contintents surrouding it are Asia, Africa and Europe.

What are caliphs?

Caliphs are leaders of the Muslim community, that are successors of the Prophet Muhammad.

What are some medical achievments?

The muslims established hospitals, they advanced the medical treatment of cataracts, and they establisehd pharmacies specializing in herbal medicine as well. They started doing medical exams and catgut stitches.

What are some art and architecture achievments?

The muslims bult domes mosques, they created delicate minarets, dams and abstract geometric patterns.

What are some literature and language achievments?

They developed oral poetry, storytelling and they released od the most famous collections the thoudanfd and one midnights. They inspired significiant movies (alladin).

What are some Math achievments?

They advanced the arabic numerals by adding zero, which asses place value, they also furthered the study of algebra.

WHat are some Navigation and Geography achievments?

They developed an important, improved astrolobes, they studied the movement of plants and stars as well. Astrolobes chart stars and planets and allowed greater navigations.
