  • good idea to plan your answer

  • for AO1 remember to show knowledge of the literary and historical context and different interpretations

  • compare greek and roman cultures and reach a judgement about them

    • tips:

    • facts must be relevant

    • Don’t over-narrate and tell a whole story. summarise the main points

    • Show that you understand things from an ancient point of view wherever possible

    • Keep referring back to the title (PEAL!) 

    • consider both sides of the argument equally if possible

    • give both interpretations to show a high level of understanding 

    • make your important points/arguments first

    • conclusion is logical and supported by evidence from your whole answer
