ATP

ATP is known as the ^^universal energy currency^^ in living organisms. The addition of ^^phosphate^^ to ADP by the enzyme ^^ATPase^^ called ^^phosphorylation^^. ATP is produced in the ^^mitochondria^^ in the cell. ATP ^^cannot be stored^^ and must be made continually.
