AP PSYCH 3.6 Chemical Senses

Taste (Gustation)

  • We taste through a variety of buds on the top side of our tongue
  • The different receptors are generally found in different sections of the tongue
    • This is why certain tastes may be more potent if they’re tasted on a specific part of the tongue
  • The buds are the site of transduction
  • Many different receptors fire to combine and create unique tastes
