LITERATURE REVIEW
A type of academic essay that examines what has already been written about a topic.
It critically analyzes the relationship among the scholarly works and the current works.
WRITING STRATEGIES
Summary
State briefly the argument and main points of relevant research.
Analysis
Examine closely the elements or structure of the research
Synthesis
Combine ideas to form an integrated theory or system through critical evaluation, compare/contrast, etc.
Evaluation
Assess the research based on the criteria or rubric that you choose, state, and explain.
Support it with another similar research.
The text is being suggested through the text’s details, which serve as a clue to get the right meaning of the text.
It needs analysis or deep thinking.
POSITION PAPER
A composition that highlights an opinion of an author or specific entity about an issue.
It contains factual arguments to support the one-sided claim or position statement, as well as its weaknesses.
PROJECT PROPOSAL
A document that is written for problem solving, service provision, event planning, or equipment selling.
A way of generating income for companies or seeking funding for projects.
A good project proposal specifies the following:
Goals and objectives that the project wants to accomplish;
Project plan that details how the set goals and objectives will be accomplished;
Financial, human, and technical resources useful in implementing the project; and
Budget that specifies how much money is needed and for what purpose it will be spent.
