Phenomenon

Qualitative data

Most important lab safety rules

  • Wear safety goggles at all times in the lab.
  • No eating or drinking in the lab.
  • Tie back hair and avoid loose clothing/jewelry.
  • Follow instructor's directions; work only as directed.
  • Know location and proper use of safety equipment (eye wash, safety shower, fire extinguisher).
  • Label and dispose of chemicals properly; never mix unknowns.
  • Clean up spills immediately; keep workspace tidy.
  • Report accidents or injuries promptly.

  • Beaker: holds liquids, rough volume measurement, mixing.
