TYPES OF COMMUNICATION MODELS:

  1. Linear Model

It is a one-way process and has no feedback. In this model, the sender is more prominent.

Aristotelian Model: It was developed by the Greeks in ancient times. It is the most basic and the simplest of all communication models. And it lacks feedback.

Lasswell Model: Developed by Harold Lasswell, and he emphasizes five elements.

b. Message

c. Medium

d. Receiver

e. Effect

  • EFFECT - the outcome of the message.
  1. INTERACTIVE MODEL

It is known as the convergence model, and it has feedback. It takes place between humans or machines in both verbal and non-verbal ways.

SCHRAMM’S MODEL: He showed the importance of interpersonal communication. The model puts emphasis on the field of experience as the focal point of communication.

  1. TRANSACTIONAL MODEL

It is also known as the circular model of communication. It is mostly used for interpersonal communication. It is an exchange of messages between sender and receiver.

SHANNON-WEAVER MODEL: This was formerly known as the Mathematical Theory of Communication. This model introduces the concept of noise.
