Test administration
Many tests may be administered before making a hiring decision
Drug, physical, personality, cognitive, reference checks, credit report checks, background checks(social media)
Help gauge a person’s KSAOs (knowledge, skills, abilities, and other personal characteristics) in relation to another candidate
Selection
Clinical selection approach: (most common) involves all who will be making the decision to hire a candidate. The decision makers review the data and, based on what they learn and the information available to them, decide who should be hired for a job
Issue: Interviewers have different perception about strengths of candidate, this method leave room for error (disparate treatment)
Statistical Method: a selection model is developed that assign scores and gives more weight to specific factors
Limits disparate treatment/perceptions of interviewers
