The Future Tense - An Aimsir Fháistineach

The aimsir fháistineach is the future tense. There are two different groups of verbs in the future tense, an chéad réimniú and an dara réimniú. The future tense uses leathan le leathan and caol le caol to determine their endings.

For the we part (sinn) use faimid/fimid in an chéad réimniú and óimid/eoimid in an dara réimniú.
For the negative use 'Ní' and add an urú.
For the question form, use 'An' and add a ‘h’.
For the Saorbhriathar, use far/fear in an chéad réimniú and ófar/eofar in an dara réimniú.

For an chéad réimniú, the following endings are used.

For an dara réimniú, we take only the root of the verb and use the following endings

To put it in question form you use An/Nach and add an urú on consonants.n	e.g. An gceannoídh tú? Nach mbaileoidh sé?
To put it into the negative you use Ní and add a séimhiú.	e.g. Ní cheannoídh tú
