vōs – you pl., y’all

suī (gen.), sibi (dat.), sē (acc.), sē (abl) – himself, herself, itself (refer back to subject, “he looked at himself”)

hic, haec, hoc – this, these (don’t worry bout’ endings just be able to recognize)

ille, illa, illud – that, those (just worry bout recognizing, not endings)

ipse, ipsa, ipsum – himself, herself, itself (emphatic, just worry bout recognizing, “he HIMSELF murdered the man”)

is, ea, id – he, she, it (don’t worry bout’ endings just be able to recognize)

quī, quae, quod – who, which (don’t worry bout’ endings just be able to recognize)

Ecce! – Look!

Ēheu! – Alas!

Euge! – Good!

Ita (vērō)! – Yes!

Minimē! – No!

Cūr? – Why?

-ne (enclitic) – turns statement into question (amas me- you love me.; amasne me- you love me?)

Nōnne? – Surely (as in “surely you did the laundry right?”)

Num? – Surely… not (as in “surely you did not hit him right?”)

Quandō? – When?

Quid? – What?

Quis? – Who?

Quōmodo? – How?

Ubi?- Where

ā, ab (+abl.) – from (use a when before constant, use ab when before vowel; just like “a” or “an”)

ad (+acc.) – to, towards (once in a while means “near”)

ante (+abl.) - before

apud (+acc.) – near, among (litearlly “at the house of” but often used figuratively)

circum (+acc.) – around (think circle)

cum (+abl.) – with (can once in a while mean “when”)

dē (+abl.) – down, down from, about, concerning (just repeat to yourself till u memorize)

ē, ex (+abl.) – out of (use e when before constant, use ex when before vowel; just like “a” or “an”)

in – when (+abl.) mean in/on; when (+acc) means into/onto

inter (+acc.) – among, between

per (+acc.) - through

post (+acc.) – after

prō (+abl.)– for (as in on behalf of), in exchange for (quid pro quo)

prope (+acc) – near (think proximity)

propter (+acc.) – because of

sine(+abl) - without

sub(+abl) - under

super(+acc or abl) - above

trans (+acc.) - across

-que (enclitic) – and (canisque felis = dog and cat)

an - or

at - but

atque / ac – and (same as et or -que; don’t worry bout difference b/w 4 types)

aut - or

aut . . . aut – either… or

autem – but (don’t worry bout difference b/w at or autem)

cum . . . tum – (“tum x, cum y” = “then x, when y” OR “not only x but also y”)

cum (time) – besides “with,” can sometimes mean “when”, just based on context.

Dum – while/until

Enim – for (as in that old use of “for;” like “for I am right!”)

Et -and

et…et – both… and

etiam – also, futhermore

igitur - therefore

nam – for (same as “enim,” as in that old use of “for,” like “for I am right!”))

nē – another form of non (no, not; don’t worry bout difference)

nec . . . nec (neither… nor; just think of nec as another form of non)

neque . . . neque (neither… nor; just think of neque as another form of non)

neque / nec – another form of non (don’t worry bout difference)

quod -because (N.B. can also be neuter form of qui, quae, quod, meaning who, which)

sī – if (just like spanish)
